Google Canada selects 14 startups for latest AI accelerator

Google Canada has selected 14 startups from across the country to participate in the sixth cohort of its Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada programme.

The programme is a three-month, equity-free initiative designed to provide startups with mentorship, sales and product guidance, and dedicated technical support, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence development.

Since its launch in 2020, the Google Accelerator programme has seen the participation of 120 Canadian startups, who have collectively raised more than CAD $480 million and contributed to the creation of 1,100 new jobs.

The latest cohort includes startups working in a range of industries, including healthcare, energy, and finance. The selected companies, along with their focus areas, reflect the diversity of approaches towards AI-enabled solutions in the Canadian technology ecosystem.

Iran Karimian, Head of Accelerator & Startup Ecosystem at Google Canada, stated: "We're excited to share that 14 startups from across Canada have been selected to participate in the sixth Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada program."

The list of selected startups includes 4Point (Toronto), which develops predictive AI and machine learning technologies to map thousands of kilometres around the globe and detect critical mineral deposits worldwide. Agentnoon (Richmond Hill) offers an AI-enabled platform that helps large global enterprises visualise, model, and understand the impact of workforce changes.

ConeLabs (Kitchener) provides an engineering-grade inspection platform using AI-powered 3D modelling and computer vision to assess infrastructure conditions, automate defect detection, and generate detailed reports.

ElephasCare (Waterloo) offers a proactive, contactless monitoring solution for long-term care facilities, using radar and AI to track resident activities and vital signs without relying on cameras or wearables. The system aims to provide caregivers with real-time insights, optimising care delivery and addressing staffing shortages.

FLiiP (Montréal) provides fitness businesses with an automated gym management platform to help streamline operations, increase revenue, and foster member loyalty.

Happly (Montréal) operates an AI platform that simplifies access to non-dilutive funding, streamlining the matching, application, and qualification process for over 75,000 users.

Luxsonic (Saskatoon) seeks to address the global radiologist shortage with virtual reality and AI solutions focused on improving radiology workflow, leading to faster diagnoses and greater radiologist productivity.

MarketMind Technologies (Toronto) delivers solutions using Google's Gemini technology to help public companies manage and attract retail investors.

Numr (Markham) is developing an AI-powered customer experience intelligence platform that analyses real-time interactions and directly correlates customer experience with revenue, allowing businesses to proactively drive revenue growth.

Quanto (Toronto) is focused on automating bookkeeping and streamlining financial workflows for accounting firms, leveraging AI to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of traditional accounting practices.

Simmunome Inc. (Montréal) combines mechanistic modelling with machine learning to simulate the efficacy and safety of drug targets, aiming to reduce late-stage failures in pharmaceutical development.

Singularity Health (Vancouver) is developing AI tools to enhance patient care, streamline medical workflows, and improve chronic disease management.

Tedy (Montréal) provides tools for team wellness, offering businesses direct and transparent pricing for wellness wallets, recognition, and financial perks.

Waveshaper AI (Montréal) is building a machine learning platform to empower developers and manufacturers to deliver real-time, high-quality audio on small devices by simplifying the integration of audio features.

"Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada is a three-month equity-free program that provides startups with mentorship, sales and product guidance, and dedicated technical support, particularly as they develop their AI technology. Since 2020, 120 Canadian startups have gone through the Google Accelerator programs, collectively raising more than $480 million CAD and contributing to the creation of 1,100 new jobs," Karimian said.

Startups participating in the programme will have access to industry mentors, technical resources, and a global network of other entrepreneurial ventures. The intent is to support the development of scalable businesses in Canada and assist startups in bringing their AI-powered solutions to market.
