MicroCare names Dr Uwe Wanner Director of Research

Mon, 16th Mar 2026

MicroCare has appointed Dr Uwe Wanner as Director of Research & Development, tasking him with leading the company's global R&D strategy as it expands in precision cleaning and fluid technology.

He will set research priorities across MicroCare's product lines and oversee formulation and product development projects. His remit also includes regulatory strategy and manufacturing scale-up, coordinating work across multiple functions.

Based in New Britain, Connecticut, MicroCare supplies cleaning, coating and lubrication products used in industrial processes. Its customers span electronics, medical device manufacturing, clinical instrument care, fibre optics, telecommunications, aerospace and defence, as well as precision manufacturing, metal finishing and water treatment.

R&D remit

The appointment adds senior leadership to an area that sits at the intersection of chemistry, compliance and production. MicroCare's development work centres on chemical formulations for cleaning and related fluid applications. Many of its end markets operate under strict quality and environmental requirements, often leading to long product cycles and extensive documentation.

Wanner will oversee the innovation pipeline and manage product development programmes. He will also lead regulatory planning and the processes required to move products from development into larger-scale manufacture.

He will work closely with cross-functional teams to align R&D with manufacturing, quality, sales and operations when bringing formulations to market and maintaining compliance across regions.

Industry background

Wanner has more than 20 years of leadership experience across R&D, regulatory strategy, laboratory operations and product commercialisation. He has managed global scientific teams and overseen work from early-stage research through to market launch.

Before joining MicroCare, he held senior roles at Drew Marine, Symbiotic Research (part of the Tentamus Group) and Arysta LifeScience. His work included scientific leadership and commercial product development in sectors where chemical products are subject to varying regulatory regimes and customer specifications.

He holds a doctorate from the University of Bonn and an MBA from Fairfield University, where he graduated top of his class.

Focus areas

MicroCare's portfolio is used in applications where contamination control is critical, including electronics assemblies, fibre optic connectors, medical components and clinical instruments. In aerospace and defence, cleaning and lubrication processes can be tied to reliability targets and traceability requirements, influencing how suppliers structure R&D and compliance functions.

The company also operates a Critical Cleaning Lab that provides testing and technical support. The lab validates cleaning performance, checks material compatibility and documents results for customer audits.

MicroCare provides regulatory guidance and customised solutions for customers, including chemical compliance work across jurisdictions and the documentation required by downstream manufacturers.

Venesia Hurtubise, MicroCare's VP of Technology & Compliance, linked the hire to the company's innovation and growth plans.

"Uwe's combination of scientific depth, strategic vision, and global leadership experience will play a critical role in ensuring our continued innovation and long-term growth," Hurtubise said.

"His ability to translate complex scientific challenges into scalable commercial solutions aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver precision chemistry with confidence," she added.

Wanner said he plans to build on MicroCare's product development and customer support.

"I am excited to join MicroCare and contribute to a culture that values expertise, creativity, and innovation. Together, we will continue to strengthen the company's product portfolio and support customers with reliable, forward-thinking solutions," he said.

He will guide development priorities across MicroCare's precision cleaning and fluid technologies, including new formulations and the associated regulatory and manufacturing steps.
