WestJet & TELUS unite loyalty schemes for travel & tech perks

Sat, 18th Oct 2025

WestJet and TELUS have combined their loyalty programmes, allowing members to earn, transfer, and redeem points across both platforms.

The partnership enables WestJet Rewards and TELUS Rewards members to link their accounts for enhanced value and flexibility. Participants in the linked platform can now earn WestJet points on their TELUS bills, redeem those points towards TELUS services and the TELUS Rewards catalogue, and also convert TELUS Rewards points into WestJet points. This integration makes it possible for members to access flights, vacation packages, and additional services via the new WestJet Rewards eStore.

Additional benefits for members who link their accounts include automatic receipt of WestJet seat selection vouchers and TELUS Roaming Passes, offering travel comfort and connectivity. Members who link their accounts before late November 2025 will also gain entry into a contest for a chance to win an all-inclusive WestJet holiday for two to Mexico.

Loyalty programme enhancements

WestJet and TELUS have both recently introduced updated rewards programmes. According to the companies, these updates represent significant transformations in customer loyalty offerings for Canadian consumers.

TELUS has rolled out a new version of TELUS Rewards, featuring a tier-based system that rewards customers based on the number of TELUS products and services they use. This new structure aims to increase engagement by offering elevated status and exclusive benefits at each tier.

WestJet's updated programme is described as the most comprehensive enhancement in its 15-year history, with changes that allow members to earn and redeem points more efficiently toward flights, vacations, or other travel services.

Executives comment on the partnership

"Together, WestJet and TELUS are showing what's possible when Canadian companies come together to put members first - prioritizing affordability and enhancing how Canadians earn, redeem and save. Whether booking WestJet flights and vacations, upgrading TELUS services or staying connected on the go, this partnership empowers Canadians to get more from their rewards with everyday value," said Steve McClelland, WestJet Vice-President, Loyalty & Strategic Partnerships.

The partnership aims to support both companies' objectives to enhance member recognition and increase customer value across Canada.

"By combining TELUS' leadership in connectivity with WestJet's excellence in travel, we're providing our customers with more value for their loyalty and creating a seamless ecosystem that rewards them in new and meaningful ways. TELUS Rewards members can transform their everyday connectivity into memorable travel experiences, and WestJet Rewards members can redeem their points for TELUS services like innovative streaming bundles, smart home products, internet, mobile phones and more. Together, we're creating an integrated experience that adds value to how our members live, work and explore," said Zainul Mawji, Executive Vice-president and President, TELUS Consumer Solutions.

Service benefits

WestJet Rewards members already benefit from WestJet Wi-Fi, which is delivered in partnership with TELUS. This service provides high-speed internet on more than 100 narrowbody WestJet aircraft, enabling guests to stream video, work, and remain connected while in transit. The companies state that by the end of 2025, the entire eligible WestJet narrowbody fleet is expected to offer this level of connectivity.

The integration of loyalty programmes is designed to offer both travel and connectivity solutions to Canadians, giving members the potential to maximise their benefits whether at home or on the move.
