Bell offers free Perplexity Pro AI to customers in Canada
Bell has established an exclusive partnership with San Francisco-based software company Perplexity to provide access to its Pro platform for eligible customers in Canada at no cost. The subscriptions will be valid for 12 months.
The collaboration positions Bell as the sole telecommunications provider in the country to offer Perplexity's AI-powered answer engine to its customers. Eligible subscribers will receive a complimentary year of Perplexity Pro, a service valued at nearly CAD $300, according to the company.
Bell states that the offer reflects its commitment to integrating AI solutions into services across its consumer base. The partnership aims to bring AI-driven search and productivity tools to Canadians, delivered over Bell's telecommunications networks.
AI-powered search
Perplexity provides an AI-enabled search experience which, the company says, delivers information in a conversational format, with source citations to ensure accuracy and context. The premium Perplexity Pro service offers access to multiple advanced AI models, including GPT-5, Claude 4.0, and Gemini 2.5 Pro, supporting a range of tasks from research and writing to data analysis and content planning.
In addition to standard search features, Perplexity Pro includes the ability to request up to 600 daily searches, unlimited file upload and analysis, image generation tools, text summarisation and citation support. Users will also receive early access to Comet, Perplexity's new agentic browser, previously exclusive to "Max" subscribers.
"We are excited to collaborate with Bell to bring Perplexity Pro to users in Canada. Accurate, trustworthy answers are essential to millions of decisions that Canadians make every day, and Bell's commitment to customer-centric innovation make it a natural partner to provide valuable technology that improves daily life for all customers," said Ryan Foutty, VP of Business at Perplexity.
The company says that Bell's network infrastructure, comprising its broadband Internet and 5G wireless services, will form the backbone for the delivery of these AI capabilities. Customers will be able to use these tools both at home or out of the house.
"Through our partnership with Perplexity, we're giving millions of Canadians the opportunity to experience the best of AI – powered by Bell's award-winning networks, wherever they are. Whether conducting research, uploading files or generating content, the speed and performance of Bell's networks are the key to delivering massive amounts of data in real time," said Blaik Kirby, Group President, Consumer and Small Business, Bell
The partnership's launch is timed to coincide with the back-to-school period. According to the company, eligible Bell Mobility customers will start receiving redemption codes for Perplexity Pro by email and text in the coming days. Bell Internet customers are expected to gain access in autumn 2025. The codes will also be available through customers' MyBell accounts.
Bell describes this new offering as an effort to support Canadians as they return to school, work, and other daily routines, enabling them to stay organised and informed through access to AI tools and services.
More information on eligibility and redemption will be communicated by Bell directly to their customers as the program is implemented.
