Hisense Canada has launched an Xbox promotion for buyers of selected laser TVs. Eligible customers in Canada receive a customised Xbox wireless controller and a trial of Xbox Game Pass Premium.

The promotion applies to selected Hisense laser TV products running the VIDAA operating system, including the PX4 Laser Cinema projector and some C2 Series models. Customers who buy an eligible device can redeem a code for a customised controller through Xbox Design Lab, along with a one-month trial code for Xbox Game Pass Premium for new members.

The move follows the arrival of the Xbox app on VIDAA OS-powered televisions. The app allows Game Pass subscribers to stream games directly to compatible sets instead of using a separate console.

Hisense and Microsoft's Xbox brand are targeting consumers interested in large-screen gaming at home. The promotion links television hardware sales to cloud gaming access as TV makers look for ways to tie entertainment services more closely to their platforms.

For Hisense, the campaign also draws attention to its laser TV range, a category it has been expanding alongside its broader television business in Canada. Laser TV products typically target buyers who want very large images and projector-style setups in domestic spaces.

Senior Manager of Marketing and Ecommerce Puneet Jain said the tie-up reflects changing viewing and gaming habits in the home.

"Today's consumers are looking for versatile, immersive entertainment experiences that bring together streaming, gaming, and content consumption in one device," said Senior Manager of Marketing and Ecommerce Puneet Jain of Hisense Canada.

Jain also outlined how the company sees the promotion within its product strategy.

"Through our collaboration with Xbox, we're making it easier than ever for Canadians to enjoy premium gaming experiences on the big screen while showcasing the capabilities of our laser TV portfolio," Jain said.

Gaming push

The offer centres on a bundle rather than a permanent product change. Buyers of eligible TVs receive a code for a custom Xbox Design Lab wireless controller and a code for one month of Xbox Game Pass Premium, with the subscription trial limited to new members.

That package is designed to reduce the steps consumers need to take to try streamed gaming on a television. With a controller and a qualifying subscription, users can access games through the Xbox app on compatible VIDAA-powered Hisense laser TVs.

The campaign also reflects a wider shift in the games market as cloud streaming services seek distribution through television operating systems. For TV manufacturers, native access to gaming libraries offers another way to differentiate software ecosystems that already compete on video streaming apps and smart home functions.

The promotion runs for purchases made before the end of October, with redemptions available until the end of December while supplies last. Hisense did not disclose how many promotional codes are available.

Market context

Hisense describes itself as one of the larger TV sellers in Canada and says it has held the second spot in unit sales in the country for five consecutive years, citing Circana retail tracking data. It also said Omdia ranked it first globally in the market for televisions measuring 100 inches and above.

Those claims matter because the laser TV segment remains a niche within the wider television market, even as brands try to position it as a practical option for living rooms and media spaces. By linking laser TV purchases to Xbox access, Hisense is trying to connect a specialist display category with a more mainstream gaming brand.

Jain made that point in a further comment on how the company wants consumers to view the products.

"Whether you're streaming the latest blockbuster, gathering friends for game night or exploring cloud gaming for the first time, Hisense laser TVs are designed to deliver a premium entertainment experience," Jain said.
